sick & tired of....being sick

Cole got hit by the flu this last week, poor kid. He had a rough couple days with a fever and then has just felt bad & has had a cough since then. Emma was spraying the house all over with lysol to keep everyone else from getting sick. She and Beckett have a cough now too, but not as bad as Colton. So we've been staying around the house pretty much. A couple of days the kids stayed in PJs all day long! I'm going a little stir crazy... maybe someone will take me on a walk this evening!
Other than that, there's not much to write about. I figured the grandparents might be going crazy not seeing updated pictures of the boys though, so this is for them and for all you other fans of the Joersz boys!

Jumparoo!

OK, I'm going to quickly write this blog, because Beckett is about to wake up from his nap. I can hear him now and I need to help Emma get him up and feed him. Moral support, I probably won't do anything really helpful actually. We got Beckett's little Jumparoo this last weekend and he really likes it! He doesn't really play with the rainforest animals quite yet, but he likes to look at them. Cole is really helpful when Beckett is in the jumparoo. He likes to bounce the seat and roll and push things to entertain little Beck. He's such a helper! Today Emma and the boys went and had a play date with their friend Christy and her kids. Cole took a while to warm up, like normal, but eventually had a fun time playing with Lilly.

I also wanted to let you know about the e-mail subscription box to the right. If you put your e-mail address in and sign up, you can automatically get updates anytime I write a new blog.

And on another note, I love getting your comments. I've updated my settings...so for all of you who have had a hard time signing in to comment, you can now comment anonymously without signing in. Just remember to sign your name or I won't know who you are!

Have a good one!

Already???

This last weekend, Beckett rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time! Here's how it happened....I was outside, of course, because it was dinnertime. Jon, Emma & Cole were eating dinner and Beckett was laying on a blanket playing happily on the table. Then, all of a sudden, he was on his side and then a minute later he was on his tummy. Good thing we had just moved Cole's dinner plate, otherwise Beckett would have spaghetti all over! Jon and Emma were very suprised and quickly decided that he wasn't allowed to just lay on the table any longer! He rolled over once yesterday too, but we think it will be a while before he starts rolling over regularly.

Farkle!

Last weekend we had our friends Jon & Tara and Bruce, Kristie & Norah over for dinner and games. I obviously got sent outside, but it looked like the families were having a fun time together. Here's a pic of the kids hanging out together on the couch- which didn't last long! Thanks everyone for coming over, we had a fun time! I wish I could have played Farkle....I would have beaten Bruce! (But I also might have chewed up the dice...)

fun words

I know I wrote about our trip to the farm a couple weeks ago, but Emma has just now downloaded some very cute pictures from the trip and said they needed to be included in this next blog post. Above we have Beckett and Piper- what a cute pair of babies, I must say! And below we have Uncle Luke and Aunt Jess with Beckett.

This week, Colton has been saying a lot of things in a more understandable way. Here's a few favorites...
-"It's A Bucko" translation: It's okay, Beckett
-"To-wee" translation: sorry (used a lot the last couple days!)
-"Ja Mommy" translation: Yes mommy
-"Heme Bop" translation: Hammer-Bob (from his favorite show, Bob the Builder)
-"too!" translation: when he wants to do or have the same thing we have.
-"I duv eww, mama" translation: I love you, mama (Emma's personal favorite!)
-"Happy Dada, Happy Mama, Happy Baby"
So, those are just a few...they're pretty cute to hear. Hope you all have a good day!

I NEED a bath!

You may think that this post is about Beckett really liking his baths, but there's more to this picture than you may think. Beckett does absolutely love taking baths. He is so content to just sit there and let Jon and Emma pour water on him and wash his hair and get all clean. But today, a bath was very much needed. Let's just say the whole back of his onsie all the way up to the neck was covered in...poop. I don't know how that much came out and wonder that if there were no onsie, how far it would have shot up! Anyways, sorry if that is gross to some of you, but I'm sure some of you may think it's funny. (And some of you I'm sure have experienced the same thing!) Beckett's all clean now and both the boys are napping. Have a good one!

no sleeping at the table!!!

Lately I've been sent outside during dinner because Jon and Emma say I beg for food at Colton's feet. It's the truth, but I'm just trying to clean up after him if he makes a mess! I stare inside through the sliding glass door because sometimes funny things happen at the dinner table. So last night Emma was holding Beckett and he started to nod off to sleep. They thought it would be funny to set a fork out and lay his head on the table. What a cute little sleeper! Speaking of Colton and his messes....Lately he does not like making a "mess" with his food. If he does, he turns up his nose and says "mess" and won't stop until we give him something to clean it up.

So, like, call me!

Beckett hasn't really been interested in holding things until today. We have given him toys and stuffed animals to see if he would grab them and he hasn't wanted them. But today, after a 2 hour nap and Cole in bed, Beckett and Emma had some fun play time. He liked grabbing a set of keys and this phone rattle. Beckett really likes to suck on things and I have a feeling that pretty soon he'll be grabbing everything and putting it in his mouth. (I hope that doesn't mean my doggy toys!)
Today Cole was in his bedroom for an hour and a half before he fell asleep. He's a funny kid. At 3 he wanted to get up after not sleeping at all, but I think Emma went up there and told him that he needed to sleep...and so he did. What an obedient child!
Well here's a pic of me and Beck hangin' out on my new doggy bed. I got it for Christmas- Isn't it nice? Emma even put extra padding in it to make it extra comfy. They really like me, even though I've been a naughty dog this week. I chewed up part of a stuffed animal, tried to eat some socks, and barked at Emma during naptime. (Apparently a big "NO-NO") Sometimes I just wake up on the wrong side of the doggy bed- I'll try to be nice this week.

Look at my boys!

We have had a really fun but busy week and weekend. We took Riley home to Virginia and spent a couple days up there to supposedly help the Keigleys pack for their move- Sorry we didn't really accomplish that, Lacey! But I had a really fun time running around the farm and eating cow poop- which Emma said was "gross!" Oma was able to come up and spend some time with Emma, me and the boys. Emma and the girls got to go out for a girls' night in Roanoke and said that they had a really fun time together. Last week we found out that Luke and Jessica are having a baby girl. I'm excited to hear of another girl in the family. We can't wait to meet her!

Let's see. What else is going on in our family? Slowly we are starting to see Beckett laugh. He hasn't done it much, but he lets out funny little noises and it makes us laugh too. He has been napping pretty well the last couple days since we've been home from Virginia.

Colton got to go to work with Jon Saturday morning. He absolutely loves riding in Jon's truck. Jon says that he sings and rocks out to the music whenever they go on a trip. He really likes the special time that he gets to spend with daddy in the truck! Colton continues to enjoy the words "Happy" and "Apple" but also has started saying "Monkey" over and over the last couple days. We had a fun time watching the Super Bowl tonight. We made popcorn for dinner - I always love it when they do that, because I get to eat some. Cole and Beckett wore football outfits today and when the game started, Cole enjoyed throwing the football with Jon. ("Watch out for Beckett!" they kept saying) Well my trip to the farm and a busy weekend has left me exhausted. I'm off to bed! Goodnight!
